Marriott are running a pair of forgettable bonus points campaigns for stays between now and Thanksgiving, which make sense mainly for those who already have Marriott stays planned:
Promo 1: Earn 2 Ways on 2-Night Stays
For every stay of two nights or longer at Marriott properties, you get 2,000 Bonvoy bonus points. It gets bumped up to 4,000 per stay for any qualifying stay at an MGM Collection property.
This is open to all members, but requires registration here.
Promo 2: Cardholders Earn 2K More
Members who are primary Marriott Bonvoy-branded credit card accountholders (with cards issued prior to Aug 16th, 2024 - so don't apply now for a card just to get this promotion) will get 2,000 points on paid stays of at least 2 nights. This is in addition to the Earn 2 Ways Points.
This is only available to existing Bonvoy card members and also requires registration.
Tad's Take
So, members without a card are in line to get at most 1,000 Bonvoy points a night under this promotion. And the few Marriott Vegas stans with Bonvoy cards could potentially bag 3,000 points a night, if they structure a series of 2-night MGM visits. That's a nice token of appreciation if you've already got qualifying Marriott reservations during the promotion. But even at the upper end of this low range, it's not worth changing plans to capture these bonuses.
Don't Confuse The Above With Courtyard's 2K Offer
I should mention there is yet another 2K offer: 2,000 points per night for stays at select Courtyard by Marriott hotels. However, unlike the above offers, the Courtyard one is not a global promotion linked to your Bonvoy account. Instead it's a code-based booking with its own rate, often significantly higher than the BAR rate. So you're just buying the points in most cases. And since it requires a code, it can't be combined with your Corporate rate - making this offer very niche, for people with business travel they pay out of pocket but get reimbursed for, and for which their company doesn't require using a specific booking code/rate. Or, you might luck out and find a property where the 2K rate is competitively priced. Stranger things have happened!
