What's The Password?
Roughly once a quarter the Kimpton people create a new code phrase which, if dropped by a guest during check-in, can garner one of various perks. It's usually from the F&B side of the house, like a free cocktail or snack, but could be anything from a novelty sticker to a room upgrade. The Winter 2024 passphrase is: It's Giving
This Is Awkward AF
But fortune favors the bold. Worst case, you get some nickknack you toss in your room's trashcan, but you won't feel so cringe if dropping the password knocks the parking fee or breakfast off your tab!
Tad's Take
I've had a soft spot for Kimpton from their pre-IHG days. While in some ways the guest experience of late (though still good) is revealing the compromises of joining a major chain, the password is a cute callback to their indy/boutique days.
